Indian values, indeed !

Thanks to the age of free speech, things like this continue to happen. And what is more disheartening is that there is a sizeable population EVEN amongst filmbuffs that supports this.

We’ll do all that it takes to stall the shooting of ‘Water’ in Varanasi. And then a Deepa Mehta would have to go all the way to SriLanka to shoot the movie. And then when it gets nominated for the Oscars- Boom! - the Indian fraternity is back to welcome it with arms wide open in the PVRs of the country. That is who we are.

So much for democracy. Meritocracy suffers.

I saw this movie, liked it a lot, … of course “surprise” of this kind of reactions… In France, this kind of movie is not shocking at all, I guess that the people who distroyed that theatre would be more than puzzled during the gay parade in Paris!!! nations should sometimes organise cultural exchange travel : some Indian sent to Paris during the gay pride, and some french (Europeans) sent to Varanasi during one big religious festival … so that they could see the other side of tolerance. It is easy for “us” Europeans to have “sexual” tolerance, maybe it is less easy to have other forms of tolerance…
